DVA – Bare Fuzz

You might not know exactly why at first, but Bare Fuzz will draw you in and not let you stop moving. Of course there’s the pumping subs and the buried but knocking kicks, yet there’s much more going on behind that sweltering immediacy. Deceptive intricacies abound, whether it be the plethora of polyrhythms, drifting syncopation, or the shape-shifting rhythmic effects. And then there’s that emotive piano that drops unexpectedly deep into it. With this tune, DVA takes a break from the neostropic soul foundation of most of the album this appears on, Pretty Ugly, which dropped last week on Hyperdub. Connect with your mind and your body.
