Q&A with Hard Nips

It’s fair to say that when you’ve named your band Hard Nips, it ain’t so easy to find out information on the internet without getting sent in the wrong direction. Death Grips

Death Grips is possibly some of the hardest, least compromising and rawest sounding rap music there has ever been.  Not much is known about the guy (or possibly group) beyond what you can guess from the smattering of videos that have surfaced in support of the new and completely relentless mixtape, Exmilitary.  There’s also some speculation that Death Grips is one of a handful of side-projects involving Sacramento, CA based Zach Hill, the drummer phenom of experimental tech-rock group Hella.

This video is the first in a series of French documentaries filmed in Detroit in the mid-nineties, called ‘Universal Techno’. This episode features Juan Atkins and Derrick May talking about the D and their music, and be sure to check the rest of the series for Jeff Mills, Ken Ishii and Kevin Saunderson. Look out for Juan Atkins’ pirate earring!
