Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team celebrate the release of ‘Bassface’ and ‘Pretty Pretty Good’ tomorrow night at Chez Moune in Paris, with Mixpaker Koyote on the line-up. Check the Facebook event details here.

Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team, the almighty alliance formed by Sound Pellegrino founders Orgasmic and Teki Latex are back. With countless mixes, remixes for L-Vis 1990 (Mad Decent) and Mikix The Cat (Abracada) under their belt, not to mention a myriad of separate and common releases under the TTC and Institubes flags, and their weekly show The Sound Pellegrino Podcast, they are ready to unleash their first EP under the Thermal Team moniker. These two have known each other for more than 15 years now and been in love with all forward-thinking movements and sub-subgenres of rap, electronica and dance they’ve witnessed blossoming in the past decade and more.

“Bassface” takes us back to the days of Miami and Atlanta Bass music, made for the rollerskating rink, but with an added macabre 808 trap feel and venomous digi-medieval undertones. So So Death Bass Allstars.

“Pretty Pretty Good” is an obvious nod to the infamous HBO cult sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, as Teki immortalises Larry David’s innate polygraph technique into a proper dance. Yes. Someone had to.

Fresh from releasing his first EP on Mixpak, Rapper Turned Singer, our latest signee Andy Petr is SO prolific, we can’t possibly release all his material so we’re giving a set of EPs away over the next few weeks. First up is APD005, an 8-track EP filled with beautiful synths, chopped up hip hop vocals and Petr’s collaborations with another young up-and-coming producer, Dro Carey. This guy is one to watch, grab it now and go check this interview with him from last week.

Andy Petr is an incredibly prolific, nineteen-year-old, up-and-coming electronic producer from the Midwest, who released his first EP on Mixpak, ‘Rapper Turned Singer’, in May and is set for two brand new, free EPs in the next few weeks.

His sound is defined by dense, overdubbed samples, complex synth lines and a surprisingly sweet and eccentrically disjointed pop sensibility. I talked to Andy on the day before his relocation to NYC about what it’s like being one of the youngest producers in the game, Kanye West, Black Flag and how he sees himself fitting into the future of electronic music.

‘What’s the 411’ from Melé’s forthcoming EP on Mixpak was dropped by Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 show last week, check the radio rip above. Watch out for details of the full release coming very soon!
