Scrappy has just released a video for the second track off his impressively deep Tha Merlo Jonez EP. The beat on “Tuffer” is a heavy, synthed out menace that pivots on a Weezy sample hook and Scrappy’s flow is sounding tight as ever. Mixtape gold for sure. Fools Gold signee and all around amazing enigma Danny Brown announced that he will be releasing his first LP XXX on Fools Gold for free this week. And even though this video for Guitar Solo (off the acclaimed 2010 mixtape The Hybrid) has been around for a while I can’t help myself from returning back to it. I don’t know whether it’s the excellent story telling, the simplicity of the hook or the guy in the Seattle fitted playing guitar in off-putting places such as a hospital or outside a convenience store.

I don’t know how Spine TV managed to keep their camera still during this, they must have sent a cameraman who wasn’t really into vinyl. Japan’s DJ Muro is a supreme crate digger, collector and DJ (have you checked his King of Diggin series?) and he even used to MC with DJ Krush as his DJ. Watch the video.
Trouble & Bass has just released “The Bass EP” which features two collaborations spearheaded by club vet Bart B More with T&B label mates AC Slater and Drop The Lime. True to its name, the EP is very, very bassy.
