It’s rare that an artist creates a new sound, let alone a new country. But that’s what Kadebostan and Rational Diet have done with The National Fanfare of Kadebostany. Rooted in a Balkanized world and infused with a broad array of electronic formulas, they’ve developed their own tradition and ask you to join in the celebrations. The above video is for the album’s single, “Kazak Rules”, which dropped on Swiss label Mental Groove. Although the single is fun and upbeat, Kadebostan‘s background in minimal techno and the orchestra’s often somber construction of classical environs keep it from becoming anything giddy.

We’re proud to announce the signing of Dubbel Dutch as an exclusive Mixpak artist, and excited for his brand new Hymn EP, set for release next month.

The Austin, TX, selector is an accomplished producer of cosmic tone poems and club anthems from the abyss; many claim his now-classic Throwback 12” on Palms Out Sounds saved their lives–or at least taught them a lesson in modern retrofitting. A chemistry of pre-hispanic shaman cries, YouTube videos of American microcosms, and 90s UK rave flyers make up his aesthetic, one which is not often associated with the Lone Star State. On Hymn, his debut EP for Mixpak, his methods havenʼt changed, but rather have become more refined.

For an insight into his new productions, check his remix of Lloyd’s ‘Lay It Down’, featured yesterday on The Fader :

Or listen back to his guest spot on DJ Q’s show on BBC 1Xtra from earlier this week, where he discusses how he got his name, how he produces, and what he’s got in store for the next few months.

Javelin’s remix of Alabama rap duo G-Side’s, “Impossible” will be released on Juiceboxxx’s new label Thunder Zone Ent. in early December.  It will be the inaugural Thunder Zone release and will be followed by “TZ002” which will be “a logo sticker designed by Zane Reynolds AKA SFV ACID.”  Beyond that,  “2K12 will see energy drinks and tee shirts and more records and who knows what else” released under the the Thunder Zone label so keep an eye out for Boxxx’s new lifestyle brand.
