Poirier ‘Jet Lag’ Mix

Poirier, the latest artist to announce an EP for Mixpak, has just dropped this new mix for Aritzia, featuring his usual tight blend of global bass sounds, from Miss Doctor to Spoek Mathambo, Dubbel Dutch to Switch. If you do have jet lag, this is sure to keep you awake.

Aunty Adoley Remixes

The story goes that the folks over at Akwaaba Music hooked up with Ghanaian artist Xpensive Nframa back in 2007, but have since heard nothing from him. With no-one to forward proceeds from the music, they are giving the record away for free, complete with a remix package that reads (and sounds) like a tropical dreamteam: Douster, Chief Boima, Maga-Bo and Sabo. Not Xpensive at all.

DJ Q – Brandy & Coke

UKG meets 90s R’n’B is often a dream combination – you only have to hear the 702 and Brandy & Monica garage remixes to confirm that. 1Xtra’s DJ Q goes straight in for the Brandy classic, ‘Best Friend’, for this one (so far there’s no details of a release, but here’s to hoping it makes a white label soon). Make sure you sit on a backwards chair for the full effect.
