When you think about christmas you may think of Dean Martin, snow and awkward family conversations. In Nigeria it’s the middle of summer so it’s heat, massive christmas dinners and awkward conversations. So exactly the same except it’s actually party season (and Carnival for the lucky some). Tunde Ednut draws up a massive list of Nigeria’s top MCs on this frenetic almost soca naija pop jam.
As we approach the end of the year we tend to look back at the best of the year, and for me one of the best mixtapes of the year was from Travis Porter. The Make it Rain guy’s Differenter 3 tape featured a heap of guest appearances, including Kelly Rowland, Big Sean and Meek Millz but one of the stand out tracks was the YG-assited ‘Yo Bitch’. From the Too Short sample to those craftily lazy keys, this song has it all.
