Oluwatosin “Mr Eazi” Ajibade is a Grammy-award winning artist and creative force whose mellow, Banku Music–driven sound has helped shape the future of Afropop. Born in Port Harcourt and raised in Lagos, he began making music in college in Ghana, where his first spontaneous recording became a local hit and led to his 2013 mixtape About to Blow. Blending Ghanaian highlife, Pidgin slang, Nigerian progressions, and R&B inflexion, he crafted a distinctive style that powered hits like “Skin Tight,” “Pour Me Water,” and “Leg Over,” as well as collaborations with Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, DJ Neptune, and Major Lazer & Nicki Minaj. His Life is Eazi mixtape series chronicled his travels from Accra to Lagos to London, earning global acclaim and appearances in Vogue, THE FADER, Paper, and on Billboard’s Africa Now cover. He has since released multiple EPs, including One Day You Will Understand and Something Else, and in 2023 unveiled his debut solo album The Evil Genius.

Now one of the most streamed African artists worldwide, Mr Eazi has performed across Africa, Europe, and the U.S., making landmark appearances at Coachella and contributing music featured in F1theMovie and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. His dance collective Choplife Soundsystem released an album and toured internationally, while his annual Detty Rave festival in Accra continues to draw massive crowds. In addition to earning recognition from the Grammys, Latin Grammys, MOBOs, Trace Awards, and the Headies, he has expanded his creative footprint through collaborations with visual artists and his business ventures with the Africa Music Fund and his own label, Empawa.

Through every chapter, Mr Eazi has remained fiercely independent, defining modern Afropop and continually pushing African music onto the world stage.
