We’ll be on Red Bull Radio with British-Ghanaian producer and DJ Juls. You might know Juls from hits like “Bankulize” with Mr. Eazi, “Early” with Maleek Berry, or “Bad“, with Kojo Funds, Not3s, and Eugy. He’s one of the producers really shaking up the Afropop scene and we look forward to hearing what he’s got in store for us.

US listeners can tune in from 4-6 pm on redbullradio.com and the EU and UK can listen back for 30 days after the show.

We’re curating and playing a month-long residency at Williamsburg’s Black Flamingo, showcasing dancehall, afropop, reggaeton, modern club, and more.

Our first, on March 1, features two genre-hopping favorites: London’s Amy Becker and a DJ set from singer-songwriter Embaci.

On March 8 we’re flying in reggaeton pioneer DJ Playero all the way from Puerto Rico, and Riobamba will be repping the NYC latinx club sound.

March 15 we’ll be blasting off to the outer limits of the club with Mixpak family Palmistry and Jubilee, as well as London experimentalist Organ Tapes.

NYC dancehall don Bobby Konders of Massive B will be in the building on the 22nd, as well as partystarter Mistervacation.

And finally on March 29 we’ll be bringing back DJ Tunez after he brought down the house in our December party, with Jubilee and our friend Uproot Andy supporting.

Dre Skull and The Large will be holding it down on residency duties every night as well!

All of these are FREE with RSVP at rsvp:mixpakrecords.com.

Vybz Kartel – Real Bad Gal

Almost 6 years after their collaboration on the now legendary Kingston Story album, Vybz Kartel & Dre Skull reunite for a one-off single: “Real Bad Gal.” Teased into the world by PartyNextDoor, who sampled the chorus on his Gold-certified hit single “Not Nice”, the original Kartel song is now available on Mixpak.

An inimitable combination of Kartel’s throwback flow and Dre Skull’s minimal roughneck production that twists classic dancehall into 2018, the song is a dedication to a “bad and brave” woman, the original bad gal.

Stream at Spotify below, or head here for Apple Music, iTunes, Mixpak Store, YouTube.

Florentino and Catalan MC Bad Gyal have linked up on a track entitled “Blink”, the first single from Bad Gyal’s forthcoming mixtape.

Speaking to the Fader, Bad Gyal had this to say about the collaboration process:
“I’m a fan of Florentino’s work — when I played Sonar last year he was playing the same stage just after me, so I tried reaching him during the festival for a collab. We hit it off creatively and made the most of his stay in Barcelona. We recorded ‘Blink’ among other tracks that you will all be able to listen to soon.”

Look out for more from Florentino very soon!

Jubilee headed out on a massive American tour supporting Keys N Krates this week, planning to stop at a range of venues and festivals in over 35 cities. It’s her first time in many of these cities, so go out and show her some love.
